I don’t see how anyone could put stock in anything Musk claims, he has a very long history of making bombastic claims.

He said it at shareholder meeting. You'd expect a higher level of probity when addressing the people who own your business? Unless he wasn't being straight with them?
I would not expect it from Musk, based on his previous behavior.
As he's an officer of a public company, isn't this kind of wildly inaccurate prediction covered by some kind of law?
