And to further this point - the fbi is domestic counter intelligence agency who they would work with.

It doesn't but if he was a US Citizen (which I'm guessing he is a naturalized citizen) he may have consulted for them.

You're downvoted because you imply a conspiracy exists but cannot articulate what it is.

It should be obvious to anyone that what this guy was doing and/or knows is something that governments are extremely interested in.

Look, this wouldn't be a story in the first place if there weren't multiple highly suspicious things going on.
