Ask HN: Is advanced AI ultimately deflationary?
Wouldn't democratized access to advanced AI lower long standing barriers to entry for a large subset of businesses and lead to more competition and lower prices for consumers?
How advanced do the AIs need to be to have this effect? Is current AI tech on a path to reach this level, or will we need to go through another AI winter or three?
Will we avoid a monopoly or a cartel controlling access to the technology? (The answer may be different in different parts of the world.)
