I don't understand why they are even trying to bail out Columbia. Cut off its funds and let the university either fund itself via its endowment or die.

I mean, because frankly, the administration can't tell them what to do if they don't re-offer the funds.

sure they can, they can close the school altogether, who will stop them in whatever they want to do? :)
