Potentially dumb question: if YouTube.js works in browser - can/has someone made a YouTube player that’s just a static page? Is there a need for a backend?

I don't really know if it could work, but I have a feeling it won't work mainly due to CORS (regardless if the app is served from http or file protocol) in the browser
