What a weird article. First it's about sex trafficking, then it's about foreigners getting killed on dating platforms, then back to sex trafficking? I'm not trying to distract from the actual topic(s) here, they are very important, but instead of cramming everything into a single article I would have preferred to learn about them in depth. For instance, after reading the whole thing I still lack any sense of how the mentioned issues have evolved over time. Has the situation gotten worse, has it improved? The article presents a ton of anecdotes but is surprisingly thin on hard facts. The article could have easily been written ten years ago, based on all the stories one could hear in Medallo back then.
Finally, it seems the author has never actually been to Medellín, despite the photos suggesting otherwise. The geographic incorrectnesses are rather telling.
