A very, very loose adaptation. Which is fine. But in skimming it, I don't even recognize the plot points. I'd need to read more closely to say if the story and the writing stand.
But it makes me smile for a personal reason: we did a production of Twelfth Night set at a music festival. We used Shakespeare's text. Shakespeare is remarkably adaptable, even in his original language. He had to be vague about things like setting, time, costumes, etc, so with a little judicious editing you can be very free about just who these people are. You just need to find a scenario that fits your understanding of the dynamics between the characters.
