Hi Chris - this is not a dupe in HN's sense of the word. Please see https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=43303443 and https://news.ycombinator.com/newsfaq.html.

On HN a repost counts as a dupe when a story has had significant attention in the last year or so. But if a story hasn't had significant attention yet, reposts are ok.

https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=43292977 certainly didn't get significant attention, so the current submission was fine, and certainly not a [dupe].

More than a bit concerned that HN's sense is being taken advantage of by publications (and submitters) duplicating content, getting a bunch of upvotes (leading to split/dupe discussions later potentially), and devaluing original content and the HNers taking the time to submit sources. But ok, noted. thx
