Reddit will warn users who repeatedly upvote banned content

Reddit‘s moderation policies make no sense to me. The system is just rife with moderator abuse and trying to combat it nets you a permanent sitewide ban. Every single person I spoke with (in my tech bubble) has one or multiple stories of being banned from some subreddit for ridiculous reasons. How exactly is this supposed to be a net benefit for this company that wants to make money?
with the way redditors act, reddit probably hates them at least as much as everybody else does.
I've generally appreciated mods in the places I hang out, but after getting a peak behind the curtain I understand why it can be a wearing role. And why rotating out of it can be a healthy plan.
However, whilst it's "safer", Reddit stopped being a place of fun years ago.
It might be incompatible to have ingroup-safe friendly places and encourage actual fun and humour. There's certainly a conflict.
It used to be where memes were made and refined. Instagram and tiktok have that now.
Worth stating the obvious but Reddit is not at all safe for work nor safe for children, it's not family friendly and is likely to harm ones mental health. Most normal non users view it as tumblr: "oh that's that porn site isn't it?".
It does remain a sometimes useful resource for some tech discussions and hobbies. Sections which were never political nor humourous.
Compare to how it used to be, it's pretty SFW today. There isn't even any nudity on r/all anymore, that's how cleaned up it is now.
Besides, the internet at large isn't safe for work, any link can basically serve you anything, regardless of the domain. Give a child unrestricted access to whatever they want on the internet and they will come across "not safe for children" stuff, within the hour.
Don't take this as justification, it's anything but that. Purely a look at their motivations and timing.
My account is permanently banned for criticizing the US's anti-trans legislation. Sent messages to admins and everything, absolutely no solution but to say goodbye to the communities I was a part of just for disagreeing with the president.
That's likely just straight-up "crime," or at the very least warrants a domestic terrorism and/or radicalized individual investigation.
