Freedom isn’t free and we should support other free nations not just because it is right, but also so we don’t have to do the fighting directly.
The role of “leader of the free world” is open, I hope someone capable can take it.
Meanwhile the current US administration seems determined to weaken the US globally more every day.
Invest ten years of your life in cultivating power like everyone else who wants to hold sway over humanity and stop sounding like world care hobbyists. The war has only begun and it isn’t Russia against Ukraine. Trump isn’t the enemy either. Thought controlled America will be the toughest challenge to come.
> The role of “leader of the free world” is open, I hope someone capable can take it.
I would not wish notoriety or power upon any I cared for. The fickle apatites of the lascivious mob are as great a danger as the lush intoxication of do or be damned power.
Americans have lost their way (continuity) and the consumertopia lie of self worth is only the start of deception.
Integrity cannot be found among America’s self lies. Bullshitting the way through it can hardly be called foul game.
You and yours don’t seem to have the push around for freedom in this game. You seem to have been told you “deserve” it and it’s your “right.” It must be made and maintained and rebuilt every generation, this tenacity of will which makes one’s “free.”
I said “you don’t try hard enough” in my foreign to you way of shaping thoughts. You should burn your ass for ten years and you will see how it is a lack of populists’ balls which fail us all.
The power isn’t somewhere out there, it is by what you’ve so far wasted by these other self conceits.
It’s a long hard road with a lot of work within, which never begins until you let go of the comfortable lie of modernity. Those you think are your enemies are full pro on this power thing. The damn shame is, the greater enemy are those who will play your “sides” against one and other, though we all have our issues.
I hope this war ends soon favorably for the Ukrainians. Trump is tacking this down as a tough business deal. Different kind of war than Zelensky’s experience. They could get fleeced.
In your mind you were just comfy and now you notice virtue is collapsing somewhere in the world. The war isn’t where the bombs drop, it is everywhere this damn mechanation of power presses upon us. Which for modernity is by umbilical.
If you cannot see what I mean for yourself, just do extra sit-ups and pushups and don’t be the slob when the yolk of civilization falls upon you and yours.
This deserved a more dignified answer, I’m not trying to troll.
It is like watching a car crash in slow motion, wondering why everyone doesn’t take sensible road safety into consideration, and for the other guy (usually) shit is just happening.
I guess the world comes down to those who see we are intrinsically beset by our own worst enemy, ourselves; and those who look (rightly in some situations) to the blameful others. And that’s a sad shit storm founded upon a recipe of mass delusion in the populous mind.
You may be looking for too clear an explanation.
Lack of generational seriousness about power in this world is one complaint with your tone. You’re the armchair critic of good faith gone wrong. (Slight trolling there).
I know you certainly aren’t “the problem”, you’re a noble heart, I feel you. You aren’t the solution either. You don’t have the mettle in you to even understand the problem, let alone the solution.
There are young Ukrainian men who avoid conscription to fight their aggressors. They flee and become refugees. It’s a total slap in the face to the American taxpayer.
Absolutely shameful behavior to forget our own history.
I think support for Ukraine is critical, but, given how that turned out for the French regime involved, this is perhaps the worst possible argument to deploy.
Anyway, the US didn’t have conscription issues though. The shameful behavior is on young Ukrainians abandoning their country in distress.
Seriously, read up on it. It’s on traditional news outlet, not some weirdo podcaster.
Yes, once states resorted to use of non-volunteer forces (starting with Massachusetts in early summer 1776, then New Hampshire in 1777 before the general call by Congress that year, and then more states after the call by Congress), there were “conscription issues” in the US, including fatal rioting over the perceived violation of rights.
For reasons that are probably obvious, the neatly packaged mythology taught to grade school students that is all most Americans learn about the Revolutionary War doesn't focus on this, but it absolutely was a thing.
Didn't the current US president dodge the draft?
I’m struggling to afford eggs dude
The whole eggs panic is weird ... there are other foods, and how it has anything to do with Ukraine is beyond me.
Note: Ukraine has joined every NATO mission since 1994 under 'NATO's Partnership for Peace' ( including when the US invoked article 5 on 9/11)
Note 2: Let's just hope this is just disinformation to sow further distrust. We'll hear the truth from Ukraine how it is, can't trust anyone of the US government under Trump atm.
