Why not? The author of the post wanted to point to a specific part of the terms. How would they do it otherwise?

Usually it's best to do it by adding a comment to the thread. Then your view will be on a level playing field with everyone else's.

There were a lot of previous threads, none of which caught any real traction, because they didn't highlight exactly the controversial part like my title did.

Yup, I agree that's a problem with this approach.
