It never ceases to amaze me that Google set the stage for this whole thing to come about this way.

Their search algorithm upranking lengthy blogspam that doesn't just get to the point. Then not only inventing the transformer architecture, which lies at the heart of LLM technology, but then utilizing that same technology to let users avoid the very problem they created.

They damaged the Internet in one way, then created the technology that they and others would use to damage it in another way, and actively use that technology as a solution to the original problem they created at the detriment to everyone else.
