Allow me to explain this absurd thing on my head (made by 3D printer, not Apple)

I don't see how this is an upgrade? Or how this "50 foot" screen helps in any way... it most certainly is not going to have the resolution necessary to make out fine details while being able to see the entire thing at once.

Maybe I'm missing something but I feel like the device would need an 8K screen for that... and the human eye would also probably need to be better.

I know why Apple didn't design it: it looks ugly as crap. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying it's worse or unfit for their purpose (though I have thoughts about adding MORE weight to your neck).

But he asks why his friend could make it and Apple wouldn't have done the same is for the simple reason that it's ugly.

For Meta Quest, this shit is just solved by 3rd party companies. There are so many different head straps for all kinds of different use cases. Apple just hasn't sold enough of these (and wont) to make that market appear here. I believe the pivot is now to Meta Rayban/Orion form/feature set.
