Ask HN: What would you do with $1000 in AI credits

3 points·parentheses··7 comments

You just received $10000 in AI credits. You can use them against the current offerings from OpenAI/Anthropic. They expire in 24 hours and you have 2 hours to spend on any pre-work. You cannot use these credits for your work/job.

What would you use them for? How would you maximize the return from the AI credits?

Ignore things like rate-limits.

Would you use them for charitable uses?

8 hours of work, 8 hours of sleep and 2 hours of regular daily tasks. That leaves 6 usable hours.

Nothing, probably let them expire.

Given the time constraints, the expected result is nil with some stress as a bonus. By doing nothing, I achieve a local maximum of nil with no stress.

This sounds interesting. Is there any charitable organization that could benefit from receiving some credits that need to be used ASAP?

There is a website where creators can sell a subscription to their 'content'. Their fans buy it.

I followed a guide I saw on reddit a while back on how to use AI and establish a workflow to create an AI 'content creator'. I'm currently running two models. I'd probably use the tokens on image/video gen to give subscribers a bit more this month.

Only Fans buy "It"

There's another hint

I've been using AI to call people and do product interviews. It's expensive, but still cheaper than a human doing it. AI's also a lot wittier and actually fun to talk to than a human. I'd dump it on that. You'd probably get some decent product specs out of it too, then spend the rest of the credits on a reasoning model to write up the specs.

I'd sell them. If that's not possible, I'd let them expire.

Is this hypothetical or real?

Can I sell them?
