Expo AI Chatbot: Fastest Way to Create React Native AI Chatbot Apps

Hey there HN, Rofi here ,

Expo AI Chatbot is live, and it's the fastest way to build React Native AI chatbot apps. Whether you're a solo dev or a team, this codebase gets you up and running with AI-powered conversations on iOS, Android, and the web (thanks to the the integration with the Next.js AI Chatbot codebase).

Some Features You’ll Love:

Universal Authentication – Works seamlessly across mobile and web. Has a custom form component, Zod validation, Sooner toasts and uses react-hook-form under the hood.

Suggested Actions & Tool Calling – UI of action cards with smooth scrolling, snap functionality and tool calling that returns generative UI back.

Image Attachments – Upload, preview, and chat with images.

Chat History Drawer – Navigate previous conversations easily with a native mobile drawer.

Markdown Support – Rich text formatting for enhanced chat streaming.

New Chat Functionality – Integrated with Expo Router navigation, Next.js chatbot API and the useChat API from the AI SDK.

Next.js AI Chatbot Compatibility Expo AI Chatbot is built to work out of the box with Next.js AI Chatbot. This means you can have a fully functional web AI chatbot that integrates smoothly with your mobile app. Whether you're extending an existing web AI chatbot or starting from scratch, you get a seamless connection between your web and mobile experiences (Auth, DB, API & AI SDK integration).

Free & Paid Versions We’re offering a free open-source (OSS) version for those who want to explore and experiment. And for developers and companies who need auth, history, image uploads, and pro-level integrations, we’ve got Plus and Pro Teams plans packed with all these features and more to come.
