Show HN: I built a tool to auto-tailor resumes to job posts

Hi HN,

I got frustrated with the time-consuming process of tailoring resumes and cover letters for job applications. Even using ChatGPT, it was taking me about 10 minutes per application just to prompt and copy-paste everything into Word. I found myself only customizing applications for roles I was really excited about, which wasn't ideal.

So I worked really hard and built useResume to solve two problems: helping me stand out with every application, and eliminating the Word document workflow.

I've been using it myself for all my latest applications and I hope it can help you too. I'd love to hear your feedback.

Nice job shipping ^^ Are you sure you don't want to price by use / credits? Would be more enticing personally if I were to be satisfied by the demo. I'll check it out.

Thanks for checking it out! You actually can start for free - you get some AI credits and downloads to play with. And if you like what you create but just want to remove the branding, you can pay per download without needing a subscription. Hope you give it a try! :)

looks nice! Since I saw a few of those pages, i wonder how you differentiate yoursefl:)? Also what does "Every template is created for major ATS systems to ensure your resume gets past automated screenings" mean? Its a readable pdf?

Thanks for the kind feedback!

Sorry it wasn't clear! all resumes are generated as fully readable PDFs that parse well in Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS). I've tested them with major ATS platforms like breezy, as well as directly on company career portals like Google's. UseResume also analyzes your target job descriptions and intelligently incorporates relevant keywords to help optimize your resume for any automated screening processes

UseResume is different with the AI Document Generator - instead of offering suggestions for individual sections it takes your entire existing resume and job description into account to generate a fully tailored application package. Other platforms typically implement AI as a writing assistant that suggests skills or generates profile summaries, UseResume can create complete, customized resumes and cover letters that align with your specific target role

cool! Good luck:)!
