I was told to make backups, not test them. Why does that make you so worried?

We have so much data to backup, that we can only restore samples.

A full restore of our live cluster is currently 180days+ (means: no real disaster recovery possible).

Thanks to budget cuts on a state level.

Backups don't matter. Restores matter.
