The End of Software Engineers

1. DEI is being exposed as the fallacy it is; hiring on merit is covertly taking over 2. "Immigrants are taking my job" is a bullshit excuse. Get good, son. 3. This is the most hilarious take: "ai" llms will take my job? If I'm pumping out the exact same stuff all the time (ie, I'm a mediocre dev) then perhaps yes. But software engineers are creating new solutions, figuring out novel ways to do things - just look at deepseek, programmed by _humans_, not another llm. Or consider the Einstein problem posed recently to top models with no solutions forthcoming.
If you're scared ai is going to take your dev job, perhaps you really shouldn't be in the game - either you've overestimated the significance of llms (which informs me a lot about your skill level and general understanding) or you're writing the same bullshit over and over, and you could be replaced by a good template generation script (don't even need ai). In either case, _you_ should move on now, find a corporate pigeonhole to hide in. If you're a passionate creator of new and novel solutions, you'll find your career can only go upwards, and I don't mean into PHB territory.
