I removed the editorializing from the NYPost headline, which conflates opposition to Israel with anti-Semitism.
Did not expect that from the NYPost tbh. Very disappointed. Thanks mate
Anybody who was fooled about this was not paying attention. Trump's daughter is a convert, and is rather religious (the Kushners have deep ties with Israel and were envoys to Saudi Arabia to improve Israeli-Saudi relations. That's right. Kushner, an American citizen, was a representative for Israel in those talks). It always sucks the deephold that country has over us, given they share none of our morals (look no further than their videos maiming children). I do not expect this to change anytime soon, given both parties have fanatically religious Jewish donors with deep ties to Israel. I think this is a direct call from the Adelsons (Vegas gambling moguls), who made a significant gift to the Trump campaign on grounds of expanding Israeli territory (DC gossip, no references for this unfortunately, but I have heard it from a reliable source). Curious to see where the line is drawn here (Freedom of Speech, or some Vandalism loophole will be exploited for the purpose of punishing college students opposing American taxpayers footing the bill of a genocide). The party of Freedom of Speech, ladies and gentleman, comes knocking once again
Without downplaying their influence and ability to meddle in our politics, Israel is in the end an outpost of the U.S. empire. There's certainly nothing in our own record to demonstrate a strong moral objection to maiming children.
You may be right. But if I surveyed any college campus today, I would expect indignation at the way we behaved in Vietnam and Iraq amongst 90%+ of those surveyed. A moral objection exists (perhaps not amongst the leadership of days of yore, but certainly in the younger generation). I would argue that moral objection is driving that discomfort in those familiar with this particular conflict
