Trump just rebranded the U.S. Digital Service as 'DOGE'

As stupid as this branding is, the actual organizational change surprisingly makes sense. Rather than an outside committee declaring cost cuts without knowing the internals... have teams working together on modernization and streamlining. That sounds like half the jobs I've been in my career - "Take this old stuff, learn it, modernize it, and do it better and cheaper".

I'm no fan of the current leadership, and much as I'd prefer to hate on everything they do, this actually doesn't sound like a bad move. Aside from the "DOGE" thing. It is hard to take things seriously when people cling to old memes.

OGE is the GSA Office of Government Ethics.

The Office of Government Ethics investigates misappropriation (like pumping DOGE using government resources).

USDS and 18F deserve better than a trashy pump from a freeloading embezzler.
