We love la belle langue, but HN is an English-language site and posts here need to be in English. (It's hard enough to get people to read them even when they are.)

Meanwhile posts that are more C++ than English are just fine, apparently. Why the double standard?

Those are not the same thing.

In case it wasn't clear, I am pulling your leg.

Rude. You know I don't have legs after that unfortunate encounter with the mööse

Ah ha you got me. Not sure it was playing fair though! — you wouldn't believe the number of people who say this kind of thing unironically.

I do remember dimly thinking it didn't sound like you, but that was as close as I got.

Fair enough ;) I guess there's always the danger of there being someone who is actually, unironically, holding the joke opinion you're presenting.

The cyberpunk future crypto has promised us is here.

Edit: possibly fake news? https://crypto.news/local-media-refutes-ledger-ceo-kidnap-sp...

Edit 2: see clarification below, not fake news

not at all. that other article is disputing that another co-founder was kidnapped, 3 days prior. clearly someone from ledger was kidnapped and they got the name wrong. the news from today is apparently due to them finding the kidnappers and the police activity around the location raid.

David Balland created, in Vierzon, in 2014, with four other partners, Ledger, a startup specializing in ultra-secure cryptocurrency wallets, notably for Bitcoin.

The significant deployment of gendarmes in a street in Méreau on Tuesday, which surprised the local population, moved to the Vierzon area on Wednesday. Numerous gendarmes and police officers were visible on the roads leading to Vierzon, and even in the sub-prefecture of Cher. A gendarmerie helicopter was seen at low altitude. In the afternoon, gendarmes even intervened on the Quai de l'Yèvre in Vierzon, breaking a window and the door of an apartment.

Glad I never opted in to that Ledger Recover service…

For people that don’t know the story.

really? a man was kidnapped.

Yeah really, what if he has the secret keys that unlock the Ledger Recover info to everyone's wallets that use that service.
