Meta admits some people can't unfollow Donald Trump on Instagram

Any "bug" where users can be permanently force-linked to another account is sufficiently weird that I want them to share some post-mortem details.

P.S.: While I can imagine an innocent simple bug as the root-cause, in order to get from there to these symptoms implies code in the middle which sounds pretty nefarious. I mean, why would they need a feature that forces users en-masse to follow arbitrary accounts with no ability to un-follow? Why would this co-occur with another "bug" where a bunch of liberal hash-tags stopped working properly?
