My understanding is that this is still very dependent on local authorities. Your local elected sheriff actually has a lot of say in what federal agents are allowed to do within their jurisdiction. For existing sanctuary cities, it's hard to imagine these warrants being granted.

Regardless, it's really bad optics. If you are trying to paint a picture that these are unwanted scoundrels in their communities, ripping them out of a school or church service goes against the message.

You can't enter private property without a warrant. Very few judges will sign these.

I would say wait until after church/school to make it less traumatizing for children to see government workers come take little Timmy away and its also disruptive to religious ceremonies. I don't really see them being able to really hide out in a church or school anyway
