I don't even know what people mean by DEI anymore.

I know what I think DEI is, but when I ask people (and man that's a painful discussion sometimes) I get a wild variety of explanations of things that at times maybe are a factual anecdote from ONE place all the way to something that sounds entirely made up.

It's one of those terms / phrases that has dissolved into meaninglessness for me.

Along with woke. They're terms for things people don't like, and as such, everybody defines them differently because we all don't like different things.

Inevitably every term they co-opt from "the left" or "progressives" or "liberals" or "the woke" or what have you just degenerates into vague pejoratives, because they have no philosophy or ideology beyond their hatred and fear of anything or anyone outside of their narrow worldview, nor any capacity to criticize their opponents in good faith, so that invective is all they're capable of expressing.

It is sad to see so many influenced by grifters.

Well, now you blame AI, duh.

I mean, the whole "this group and/or technology keeps me from having a proper job" discourse is so tired, yet remains so popular on HN and similar forums...
