Now the question is, why do these halves always form? Because you will always have a spectrum between the curious and explorers, and those that just want to settle and be content with what they have. The latter tends to be larger because, I believe, it’s a state of equilibrium. Being a CEO or an astronaut is not stable in the least. It brings disproportionate benefits to humanity, but if we were all to be this way, we’d likely collapse as a species. So think of the current society’s structure as self balancing.
