I guess it depends, but I know a few folks in their late forties with kids in college. They had them in their late twenties. I wouldn't call it rare.

Over 40 is a wider bracket than just 41.

I’m 46 and my oldest is 18 and will start college next year (southern hemisphere), not that different from you after adjusting for our age difference :)

Yeah especially these days when people are having kids older and older as it requires much more lengthy education to establish a stable career.

Here in Germany it has become extremely common to have children in your mid 30s or later.

Yeah, I'm European. Nowadays it's getting similar, but it was very different under communism - and the regime spent a lot of money to convince people to have children early.
