I don't like the way he's surrounding himself with tech-bros who are convinced they know more than they actually do because they're rich, but the inauguration donations are par for the course. It happens every time; Biden had nearly a dozen million-dollar donors.

As I said elsewhere: the money doesn't go directly to the candidate, or to their campaign. It has to be spent on the big party.

Since Trump has been convicted of mis-using funds, the FEC really ought to keep a close eye on it. But since the Supreme Court has basically said it's not illegal when the President does it, it won't really matter.
