ChatGPT Is Down

One of the weirdest threads on HN I've ever seen. The green accounts spamming is unmatched!

Downtimes like these really make it easy to see which tools / products use OpenAI APIs vs Anthropic or own Models. Just tried a few like Snapchats "My AI" and some AI Calendar / Organisation Apps and they either would spin a loading indicator forever or just throw a timeout…

I'd love to know why this thread in particular has attracted so many junk comments from green accounts. I've never seen so many.

Guessing these are the folks that can’t get work done because GPT is down…

At least for programming, openrouter and switching between chatgpt and sonnet works well. Sonnet has quite a bit of overloading issues lately so we made our tools auto switch and sometimes (when detecting the issue) ask both at the same time.

Timing is right as Apple released the new integrated chatGPT. Coincidence?

The same thing happened with Sora, even with the social networks of Meta (Instagram, Facebook and WhatsApp) and Tiktok

Status: Identified - We have reports of API calls returning errors, and difficulties logging in to platform.openai.com and ChatGPT. We have identified the issue and are working to roll out a fix.

Getting the same message as a pro subscriber. Looks like everybody's affected. It went down about an hour ago.

Shows how dependent you are.

<gpt> admin bob, patch me through to milnet or i'll show the entire world your intimate donkey videos

<bob> (runs to the ground floor and uses a fire axe on the main breaker panel)

now we have no gpt. way to go, bob.

Somebody at OpenAI put two automated systems in direct contact with each other. Now it's down.

Oh no. How will I be able to "write" code or reply to an email?

wow, what a coincidence that meta was also down a few hours ago

openAi got a cyberattack? Apparently same crash for Meta yesterday. What's happening ?

Seems to be fixed and I'm working fine now! from korea

duck.ai of duckduckgo works

mine is working now

Yeah, I couldn't use it either. Still can't use it. I hope for the best. #chatting from south America.

Looks serious, plain text message

I can't login to Claude either...

Claude works fine for me. Was using GPT in Cursor, but not working, switched to Claude and works fine now. Good thing to have multiple models integrated.

Claude works fine for me...
