Atrocities against people were committed using this logic since the dawn of humanity. The bigger problem is this way of thinking is used to justify the vilification of people even to this day. See debates on supporting US election candidates.
Someone one day might decide that your mom/dad broke law and evaded justice and it's therefore OK to un-alive them because the court system failed.
Which is why countries where vigilante justice is common are significantly more dangerous and worse to live in than where it's not.
