If ChatGPT increasingly gets better at coding, why don't they deliver official plugins for the main IDEs in the way Github Copilot does?

Is this because Github mostly uses OpenAI models under the hood anyway?

They have an extension in VSCode which allows the ChatGpt App to read the file which is open in vscode, the App can also read your terminal.
