Because the state/bureaucracy is actually accountable or transparent about decisions or decision-making frameworks or how they evaluate decision-making frameworks? I’d much rather cut them to a third their size, pay them like they’re in big tech, and hold them accountable (much like Lee Kuan Yew managed to in Singapore).
