Misinformation expert cites non-existent sources in Minnesota deep fake case

It’s especially sad considering the 40+ page submission contains dozens of cited sources, and this is a serious topic that warrants our diligence and attention. But obvious, easily detected malfeasance from the trusted experts opens up huge opportunities for bad faith actors to undermine any efforts for oversight before they can even be fairly considered.

If the allegations are true, Stanford needs to clean house in that department. This should be a bright red line that other academics and legal professionals should be terrified of crossing.
