Interestingly, German doesn't really have a concept of small talk. It was a problem translating Paddington Bear from English to German: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-13545386

Interesting. I found lots of similarities to Finnish culture in the article and Finnish language doesn't have a word for small talk either.
