Fascinating. IDK how exactly I'd accomplish their goals without federal/state funds or building some housing (can you imagine??), but I feel like "AI in city hall" is not likely to be helpful. Also, isn't Sam supposedly kinda busy? He told everyone that he's the CEO of the most powerful AI company at the start of a new "Intelligence Era" of human civilization, a role of unimaginable importance -- kinda funny to imagine him balancing that with neoliberal SF politics. Godspeed, I suppose.
Obviously, cynically speaking, he's likely little more than a bauble, similar to Musk's short-lived contributions to Trump's first administration. I would guess that SF voters wouldn't want to see Altman's face around the mayor, but perhaps he's playing to the donor class.
