Ask HN: Recommended Book on Data Compression?

Hi guys.

I am interested in how algorithms like JPEG and other compression algorithms work.

I quick Google reveals so many options.

Anyone in the industry working with data compression have any recommendations?

Is there a go-to Bible that the industry uses which curates & describes the essentials & basics of data compression?
