We Built Trendly: A Solution for Timely and Trustworthy Insights

In a world flooded with information, finding accurate, relevant news feels like an endless battle. As a team passionate about delivering truth and clarity, we set out to build a news app that would cut through the noise and offer users fresh insights they could trust. That’s how Trendly was born—a Q&A-driven platform built for people who want more than headlines but less than a full read.

Our goal was simple: create a space where busy professionals, content creators, and avid learners could get relevant news without spending hours sifting through filler content.

The Problem We’re Solving

-Social Media Overload: Platforms like LinkedIn and X (formerly Twitter) are swamped with misinformation, ads, and irrelevant updates.

-Fragmented Sources: While many aggregators exist, they often lean toward quantity over quality, presenting every headline without context.

- Time Constraints: Even platforms like Feedly, which consolidate news, often rely on full-length articles that don’t fit into the daily routines of mobile users.

How Trendly Works

1.Personalized Feed: Trendly uses a machine-learning algorithm to curate a feed tailored to each user’s interests, focusing on AI, tech, business, and research topics. It’s designed to learn as you use it, continually refining its recommendations.

2. Point-Form Summaries: We developed a summarization model to break down articles into bite-sized, point-form content that can be read in under a minute. These summaries highlight the main insights, so users stay informed without wading through fluff.

3.Pre-generated Q&As: Trendly’s Q&A feature lets users dive deeper into complex topics without hunting for explanations. Each article summary includes questions and answers that anticipate what users might want to know next.

4.Trustworthy Sources: We prioritize credibility by sourcing from verified publications and applying AI-driven tools to detect potential misinformation before it reaches our users.

Why HN Readers Might Find Value in Trendly

If you’ve ever felt exhausted by the clutter on social media or overwhelmed by the sheer volume of information online, Trendly could be a refreshing change. We built it for professionals and content creators who want to stay updated on relevant topics without the extra noise.
