Let's imaging a present/potential future: single family homes with p.v. and small storage, eventually with car's bidirectional charging and even an emergency diesel generator with let's say a classic 1000l cube full of diesel. It's not that strange these days outside cities, and it's generally as reliable as most datacenter power systems in practice. A home rack with a bit of local networking, IoT like video-surveillance and p.v. load piloting, space for some 4-5U PCs. Of course modern FTTH.
WFH let's say for a startup or an established company who offer compensation for having hosted/on-premise systems to it's employees homes instead of from some well known big service provider. How much such system can scale? How much when the company need more power but not more homes (employees) simply adding a well insulated shed in the owners garden with more rackspace, p.v. etc?
I'm pretty convinced it will be on par or even cheaper than using third party resources and anyone own some physical asset as well that could be used for anything in dire time needs when/if happen.
