Supacat MUV: Affordable military vehicle based on Toyota Hilux pick-up truck

The Toyota Hilux has been the platform of choice to make "technicals" with since the 1980s. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toyota_War

In classic defense contracting style, "low cost" comes without a number.

Nice to see more COTS tho. Drone warfare is a really impressive example of what can be done with COTS components.

There must be some process similar to carcinization that pushes Toyota hyluxes to transform into Technicals over time.

It’s a nice cosplay truck but it looks like it has no drone protection provisions. Great for the last war.

> Although originally intended for regional markets in the Asia-Pacific region, Supacat noted that the utility vehicle could also find applications in Europe.

We wanted make profit on dead people and broken states in the middle east, but considering recent events in Europe, we might have thought too small.

On hackernews posting about war machines is not political. Commenting about posting about war machines however is.
