Excuse my language but I can't help but think this is anything other than a stupid, racist, and sexist article..

Literally all races on earth care about anti-aging and have historically done so. Most women I know care more about anti-aging than the men I know.

Most people in advanced cultures seem to want that.

The hypocrisy of some folks telling everyone to have a tough/difficult life and find salvation in heaven while they try and live forever to enjoy worldly possessions.

Death will always be the great leveler, no matter what you believe or how much money you have, it's all back to the mud for everyone.

I'll believe AI has sentience when it becomes concerned about being turned off.

I've known a lot of rich people and the reason to want to live forever is never to enjoy worldly possessions. It's always one of two reasons:

1. Control of whatever they have created to shepherd it into the future (sub category, my inheritors are going to fuck this up or only I can keep this following my vision, my inheritors probably won't destroy this but they will redirect it towards something I think is stupid)

2. They are smart enough to figure out they are just the software for the meat machine they are residing in and the meat machine is the old model that will get retired soon, which means the software will be shut off and deleted, which is way scarier than going to hell to many, so they want to avoid that outcome.

It's never the pretty baubles they have collected over the years or the comfortable existence they are living.

“Death gives life meaning” Not to worry, death is still optional

“Only the rich will be able to afford it”. No, you are incorrect. Give it some additional thought.

I don't know about you but thinking about living forever (either alive or in an afterlife) gives me more of an existential crisis than the thought of post-death non-existence. Forever is an overwhelmingly long time.

I wouldn't worry. A few hundred billion dollars isn't going to solve immortality. We've also got to cure heart disease, cancer(s), Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, etc along the way.

If we could simply add an extra 30-50 years of healthspan, perhaps people will start to think differently about old age and life, in general. It would also be cool if Einstein were still alive and productive, for instance. Let's add Feynman, Hawking, Dirac, Weinberg...

It is very easy for someone to dismiss such software until it is too late. The trick is in applying beneficial practices early. Even so, the software will do its best to assist even in late stages.

I wouldn't want to live in my flesh and blood through many more wars, collapses, depressions, dictatorships, invasions, extinctions, etc.

On the other hand, I hope it was all a simulation so one day I will get unfettered access to insert myself into any time and place in the simulation with god mode access and no_clip.

At least they aren't forcing all of us to build pyramids for them yet

I wish outlets like this would skip the rubbish philosophy of supposed immortality and just write:

Eat the rich, class war now.
