Maybe they just assume everyone's reading this on an iPhone. I'm not, but if I wanted to I could access it via my phone which has Apple News which is how I access WSJ.
Maybe they assume you know how to use an archive site, or that someone will post a link eventually.
Looks like WSJ finally implemented bot protection as
archive.today just has a CAPTCHA archived.
