Evidently content moderation like that is the Full Self Driving of Twitter

Well, (a) sensible, but (b) why does the World Bank have ads in the first place?

Some of it is "Come work for us".

The majority seems to be brand-building. "See, we're not just 21st century colonialism! We make life better for you poors."

The World Bank has kind of a negative reputation, which makes it harder to do even the good work they're supposed to do.

Will we still have the happy days of bad guys getting demonetized? Or will respectable companies and customers accept unfortunate ad placements as a fact of life?

They just won't advertise on Twitter. There are plenty of other ways for organizations to spend their advertising budget.

Free speech is not equal to consequences free speech

Musk made his opinion regarding advertisers pretty clear: "Go F Yourself"
