Show HN: Cursor Search – AI-powered search that follows your cursor
cursorsearch.com
I'm building Cursor Search, a Chrome extension that brings AI-powered search capabilities right to your cursor. I'd love to get your thoughts and feedback.
What it does: Activates with a keyboard shortcut Displays a search bar that follows your cursor Provides instant AI-generated answers without leaving your current page
Tech stack: Frontend: JavaScript, React (next js) Backend: Node.js AI: OpenAI's GPT-3.5 (planning to implement local models in the future) Hosting: Cloudflare DB: Supabase
Why I built it: As a developer, I often found myself constantly switching tabs to look up information, disrupting my workflow. Cursor Search aims to streamline this process, keeping you in your context while providing quick answers.
Current stage: MVP built and tested internally Optimizing for latency and accuracy Planning closed beta in 2-3 weeks
What I'm looking for: Feedback on the concept Suggestions for features or use cases Interest in early testing (waitlist below)
Future plans: Mozilla Firefox version Custom AI model fine-tuned for web search More utility features, which refines the product
Try it out: The extension isn't publicly available yet, but you can join the waitlist for early access here: cursorsearch.com
I'm excited to hear your thoughts, criticisms, and suggestions. What would make this a must-have tool for you?
