Show HN: Simplify iOS In-App Messaging with Remote Templates
upmate.app
We kicked off Upmate to scratch our own itch: keeping mobile app users in the loop about new features without messing around with native code.
Our inspiration? The awesome WhatsNewKit [https://github.com/SvenTiigi/WhatsNewKit]. But we needed something more flexible—something that could be updated remotely.
As mobile startup veterans, we've been burned too many times by ridiculous pricing plans and limitations. We were fed up with all the overpriced, restrictive options out there for in-app messaging.
So, we built Upmate. Why? Because the alternatives were just too damn expensive:
Braze: Custom pricing (we’ve seen it hit $100k/year ) Intercom: $10k/month Survicate: $100/month for just 100 answers?!
In the future we want to expand into making templates for the most common use cases for in-app messages: - Ask app not to track - Ask for push notification - Send marketing promotions - User interviews prompt - .... much more :)
We are trying to figure out if we can build a SAAS out of this, what do you think? Right now everything is virtually free for us so we would be super happy to offer an extended free plan for the early adopters
