I can understand their intentions, but for me as a human being who thinks "if done bad, then stand by it and accept the situation", this can't be accepted!
But you're right - Disney has a lot of bads on their back. And yes, if everyone would just stand up NOW and giving a backlash, it would be good for future handling of such happenings. How can that even happen that they pull a contract of a completely unrelated and argument on this??? ... It looks like "let's try it and see if the other party is getting on their knees". Evil!
If all that's changed is their PR situation then it seems like it's a further abuse of process to do even this. The judge should rule on their legal position regardless.
When a guest dies in your park and it could potentially be viewed as even partially your fault and all their estate is asking for is 50k... You immediately settle and then if you must, sue the ass of the third party vendor.
This was a major management failure in my opinion.
It's a sad statement about online reporting that so many sites ran with the 50k number and don't list the case number or its publicly available complaint/filings:
Case: 2024-CA-001616-O : PICCOLO, JEFFREY Jvs.GREAT IRISH PUBS FLORIDA INC et al.

Corporations are not sociopathic (they are not even sentient), people are.
> even beloved ones like Disney
Depends a lot on the social group. I know quite some people for who have about the same love for Disney as for genital herpes.
