Show HN: I made a free story&novel maker to help create novel faster

"What if we’t come back Susan asked, her voice barely above a whisper.

With a, Marnie replied, "That's point."

I put in a prompt for a bedtime story for my daughters (names changed) and got this out. Pretty disappointing.

I don’t think these types of projects better society, even if it worked.

Like another commentator, I tried it out. What came back was... Grammatical garbage. I strongly recommend running this AI through some kind of spell checker type software. The title here also having typographical errors isn't a great indicator that solid English was a priority.

I also tried to use this and found it generated a very short mystery story that didn't make any sense.

> *Title: Midnight Cravings*

> The clock struck midnight as Sarah pulled into the dimly lit Taco Bell drive-through, her stomach growling in protest. The usual brightness of the neon sign flickered ominously, casting eerie shadows on her car. She squinted at menu, but a chill down her spine as she the absence of the friendly jingle—only an unsettling silence perv the air.

>"Welcome to Taco Bell, a voice crackled through the, heavy and. It was low, groaning. “What would you like?”

>Confused but hungry, placed her order. Moments later, the window slid open, revealing a figure obscured by a dark, face hidden. A tray of steaming tacos, the aroma tantalizing yet strangely metallic was thrust towards. Without thinking, grabbed it, and as she bit into first taco, a scream echoed from the shadows of the parking.

>Her heart raced as the figure stepped closer, an unsettling grin split face too wide. “ aren’t just tacos…” it whispered.

>As she turned to flee, world around twisted, the drive-through morphing a snarl of hungry. “Stay for the afters…” it beckoned, as her worst cravings emerged.

I'll never reveal my genius prompt that led to this output, but generally the issue here is that chatgpt can't produce anything but short (sub 1000 word) stories, and novels are around 50k to 100k. This is pretty useless for actually writing novels.

If I click on this page I get something about Wedding AI.

Joke?

curious how are tools like this made? are most AI tools just using chatgpt's API + new interface?
