I'm inclined to think that this must be a state sponsored attack, yet I wonder the about the value of pissing off the public. Seems like it would just help to galvanize support of the Iranian government.
I also agree that it isn't clear to me how stealing information from private citizens would be a justified response for ongoing tensions in the region.

Until the day comes when my people, my culture, and my race are treated equally to others, that's the day I'll become a proud citizen of the "World" and Humanity. Until then, I'll fight for my own existence and my own people.
Btw, "death to" is a mistranslation- in Persian it just means "down with". The American comedy "Down with love" is translated in Iran as "death to love".
