> Intel's motherboard partners began to release BIOS patches containing the new microcode for their LGA 1700 motherboards. MSI has pledged to update all of its 600 and 700 series motherboards by the end of the month
Funnily, when I went out to fish the changelog for MSI's BIOS upgrades, the only relevant item I found is _yet another misfeature_ from MSI which is explicitly designed to bypass current limits (as in, ampere) set by Intel: https://www.tomshardware.com/pc-components/cpus/msi-details-...
This is just ridiculous. I just want a reasonable CPU with low idle power and a 65W TDP. Yet with shenanigans like this you can never be sure that the limits you set will be honored.
