Nearly everyone working on Nova Launcher has been laid off

Nova Launcher is an alternate home/launch screen for Android devices.

My own principle use for it has been as an alternate launcher on an Onyx BOOX device. Onyx otherwise uses its own heavily re-themed Android skin, which to be fair works quite well on its e-ink devices. But it also hides much of the standard (and particularly more advanced) Android system settings from view. Nova has been a way to regain access to these.

The news that the dev team is disbanding is disappointing.

That’s a shame. It’s a good product.
