Nightmares and 'daymares' could be early warning signs of autoimmune disease

I had horrible nightmares when I was younger, when the autoimmune stuff wasn't affecting me nearly as much. Folks that knew me assumed I never slept; I usually would sleep 2 to 4hr at a time and wake up sweating from a vivid dream of being mutilated.

that was 25 years ago; the dreams faded as my health declined. I'm housebound now, but I can sleep uninterrupted for 8hr and haven't had a dream bad enough to wake me in longer than i can recall.
