> There are better ways to design than putting a big effort into making something look special. Special is generally less useful than normal, and less rewarding in the long term. Special things demand attention for the wrong reasons, interrupting potentially good atmosphere with their awkward presence.

This is exactly what I want in a coding font. I spent close to twenty years using Courier New because it was the default font of many coding editors. When other fonts appeared (Jetbrains Mono, Fire Code, etc) I tried them, but the shapes and kerning were unfamiliar and they made the code too hard to read. I didn't switch to anything until Consolas appeared, because it's a very Courier-New-style font.
This one, Commit Mono, looks beautiful. I loved the in-character spacing adjustments for 'kerning' while keeping it monospace. The letters are extremely readable and distinguishable. It's Courier-New-style, so it feels familiar. It is, in the spirit of the above quote, completely normal but extremely well done; it feels like real attention to detail and quality have been put in to making this the most exemplary normal it can be.
But one question: What about the license? In which project we can use it?
